Summer is Coming to an End!

Aspen has been beautiful this summer after a long, cold, snowy spring. The wildflowers and landscaping around town are exceptionally lush. Now that the Music Festival has finished, it is easier to get around and get serious about real estate. There are lots of potential buyers looking, and the contracts should start being submitted in the next few weeks. Then it will be October, and we'll be quiet again until the Holidays. Dawn has moved back to Aspen, working at the Aspen Valley Hospital Emergency Room and a family practice clinic in Glenwood Springs.

I'd love comments and questions -- would make it easier for me to get this blog to be more interesting and regularly posted!

Spring in the desert is special -- the cactus blooms, the wildflowers, the three bobcat sightings Monday afternoon on the golf course, bats in the evenings (did you know they pollinate the saguaros?) -- tonight a full moon.

It's time to start this blog process once again, and keep it up regularly! Quick note -- the Aspen real estate market has slowly begun to recover, and I will post a recap of this winter's activity in May when the closings have occurred due to winter sales. Summer should show continued improvement, as winter has been very good for retail sales, and some extraordinary real estate sales. On a personal level, don't miss "The Lincoln Lawyer" -- excellent movie very true to the book of the same name by my favorite author, Michael Connelly. As I reach out to increase readership, I'll get a pattern to my blogs and hope to be very informative, particularly about Aspen, and secondarily about the Cave Creek, Arizona, area, and our spring travels.

Now that I've finally begun a blog, I'd like to know if there is anyone reading this -- what would you like to know about Aspen -- the real estate market, ski conditions, activities, current events -- I can review restaurants, books, give advice on almost any topic. It's free, so you get what you pay for. Right now my husband and I are in Cave Creek, Arizona -- an old mining town as old as Aspen, though mining for gold, not silver as in Aspen. It's cute, funky, western, biker, fine food, cowboy food, golfing -- and not too far from the museums, shops, etc. of Scottsdale and Phoenix. I am a birder, and am keeping track of the seasonal birds here, and looking for information on unusual sightings.

Real estate sales in Aspen are occurring, and by the end of the year I will report on the trends and highs and lows. Greed is no longer rampant -- sellers and buyers are more rational.

We'll see if anyone is reading -- please comment.
